Dr. Volk is a mathematician who joined the ACMS faculty in 2022. Prior to his position at Notre Dame, he taught a wide range of undergraduate mathematics courses at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, especially calculus, as well as graduate math education courses through the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes. When teaching, he places a high emphasis on students being actively involved in the classroom.
