Forcing Regeneration: Mechanical Regulation of Tissue Growth and Repair
Our cells and tissues exhibit remarkable plasticity to mechanical stimuli, which play continually emerging roles in all stages of life. We are interested in how mechanical forces affect our cells and tissues, and how to manipulate these factors to regenerate tissues after injury or disease. In particular, we aim to understand in how mechanical forces affect bone formation and repair and vascular network growth and remodeling to develop new approaches for tissue engineering.
