My research uses an interdisciplinary approach to understand the multiscale dynamics controlling spatio-temporal patterns necessary for cellular function. Biological research topics include intracellular phase separation and the epithelial mesenchymal transition. Understanding these processes requires the use of well-developed, biologically faithful multiscale models using ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, phase field modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
