Dr. Xing’s research is primarily problem-driven and lies broadly at the intersection of statistics methodology and data science. Currently, his research focuses on (1) developing statistical approaches to model large-scale complex network data and network-based dynamic system (2) developing efficient tools to perform feature selection in statistical machine learning, and (3) modeling spatial heterogeneity in ocean science.
