Zhong Zheng is an assistant professor in the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Notre Dame. He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, from 2025 to 2026. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from The Pennsylvania State University in 2025 and his B.S. in Statistics from Peking University in 2019.  His research interests include
reinforcement learning, nonconvex optimization, and causal inference.
