Mixed Volume, Mixed Cells, and Polyhedral Homotopy
Mixed volume and mixed cells of lattice polytopes play important roles in the study of systems of polynomial equations via Bernshtein's Theorem and the Polyhedral Homotopy method. This talk reviews recent developments in parallel algorithms for computing mixed volume and mixed cells as well as the revival of a few classical ideas.
