Recognizing student achievement is an important part of our department’s mission. Each year, we honor outstanding graduate students through three departmental awards that celebrate academic excellence and meaningful research in ACMS.
Outstanding PhD Research Award
This award is presented to a PhD student in their final year of studies who has performed outstanding research during their PhD studies in ACMS.
Best Performance on Qualifying Exams Award (Applied Mathematics or Statistics)
This award is presented to one applied mathematics PhD student and/or one statistics PhD student in their first year of studies who has demonstrated outstanding performance on their qualifying exams.
Outstanding ACMS MSP Major
This award is presented to an ACMS professional masters student who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance.
